Origin8 Folding Bicycle Recall – Customer Support Update
J&B Importers, Inc. previously initiated a voluntary recall of certain Origin8 F1, F3, and F7 folding bicycles in December 2015. At that time, affected customers were offered a replacement with a Sun Shortcut SC1, SC3, or SC7 folding bicycle as part of the recall remedy.
More than 10 years have passed since this recall was initiated. While these models are no longer in production and replacement units are no longer available, J&B Importers remains committed to supporting our customers and ensuring rider safety. In many cases, the original bicycles may now be approaching 14 years old, depending on their production date. To continue that commitment, we have updated the recall program to provide a $125 credit toward a new Origin8 or Sun Bicycles product.
Customers who believe they have a bicycle subject to this recall should follow the process below:
1. Contact us at info@origin8.bike or your local authorized Origin8 or Sun Bicycles dealer (bike shop) for assistance.
2. Bring the bicycle to the dealer for inspection and verification that it is part of the recall.
3. Once confirmed, the bicycle will be collected by the dealer as part of the recall process.
4. After processing, you will receive a $125 credit (no cash value) via email, which can be applied toward the purchase of a new Origin8 or Sun Bicycles product through that dealer.
This approach allows you to apply the credit toward a current product that best fits your needs, while ensuring the recall continues to be supported in a practical and meaningful way. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to prioritize rider safety.
